It Finally Happened..

Well it has finally happened...we received our orders to move to San Antonio! I knew we were moving but nothing is official unto you have the coveted "orders". They came through James' email on Saturday. Now the big question is what do I do with them? I really don't know how this whole military move works, I'm still in denial really. Moving is such a huge project and I'm feeling the weight on my shoulders a little heavier every day. I'm not sure how to begin now that it is here and kind of enjoyed just de-junking my house rather than having to pack it up. I'm experiencing a range of emotions none of which I can really explain, but hope to deal with this the best way that I can.
I know this move will be wonderful for our family and help us grow in ways that we couldn't by staying here in Las Vegas, but the thought of leaving all my dear friends and clients really tugs at my heart strings. Some of the people I have cultivated friendships with here are irrereplaceable and it will be very sad to leave. However I look forward to the adventure ahead and for the growth that I will be able to witness in my children as well as my husband in his new position as an instructor. He will be teaching aircraft maintenance in Spanish which is right up his alley and something he is really looking forward to. I look forward to spending more time at home with my children and being a bigger part of their lives. I will work in San Antonio, but will wait to see what the area brings before I make any commitments to Salons out there. I want to make sure I am also growing in my career, so I am keeping my options open. I'm thinking a lot about going back into being an educator so that I can keep progressing in the industry. It's hard to move from a very hip area to something a bit slower...so we will see. I will miss my clients and new salon dearly, but returning to Las Vegas is always an option for us down the road.
Well...here's to humidity, bugs, and a bright new future! San Antonio...here we come!

Snowing in Vegas!

I have lived here for almost 12 years and I think this is only the second time it has ever snowed here. It actually stuck on the ground today, I couldn't believe it. My kids didn't want to go to school today, they thought they should get a "snow day". But to be honest, I would have loved to stay home with them and have a movie marathon and DO NOTHING! We just got home from Utah where it snowed as well, and I thought we were coming home to warmer temperatures, I guess I was wrong!
