Malak

This kid has got to be the funniest of all my children. When you look at him you just crack up and then when he opens his mouth something ridiculous always comes out. He literally has personality coming out of his ears. In fact my mom called the other day to tell me she ran across a picture of him and just couldn't stop laughing!

Anyway we were driving home from church today and I turned around to look at him. He was looking extremely tired and so I said, " Oh Malak's ready for night night." Well, he held up his hand and said, " Leave me alone, mom...I go night night." Of course I couldn't understand him because he really has his own language that only Kai seems to understand so Kai translated for him. And then Malak rolled his eyes at me as if saying, "DUH!" We all cracked up!

He loves to sing I am a Child of God but only sings the last word of every sentence and never on tune! We usually crack up when he does that, too.

He counts like this...1, 3, 2, 4...and then just rambles. I know these are probably not funny to all of you but we think he is hilarious...maybe it's just his facial expressions and the way he talks. He has a very strong lisp and can't say half of the vowels...but we absolutely adore him!!

New Posts..

After the first day of school, I backtracked and did some posts back from July and August but changed the dates so scroll down if you want to see more....

First Day of School

The kids have been so excited to start school again, and I would be lying if I said I wasn't grateful as well. We needed to get back to a schedule! Jamie is starting his last year at Legacy High School and is really learning to be independent. This year should be fun for him because he has his own car and doesn't have to depend on me for rides anymore. I'm grateful because with a kindergartner this year it would be very difficult to be in all the places at once!
Kai started in Mrs. Evans morning kindergarten class with all of his favorite friends. He is so excited to be there and really thinks he's grown up. He's sleeping in his bed all night long and has been for a while-which makes me ecstatic!! He's already reading and can almost keep up with Madelyn. She's been a good teacher for him. He's been coming home so excited every day about all the things he's been doing--wait until he realizes he has 12 more years of this...

Madelyn started 3rd grade with Mrs. Fuller and she also has alot of friends in her class. In fact when we took them all we were worried about Maddy feeling less important than Kai because we both wanted to drop him off at Kindergarten. But when we got there she threw her backpack in line and disappeared!! I literally had to go find her to try and take a few pictures for the blog!!

Malak hasn't seemed too phased by being alone with mom for a few hours. When we took Kai to Kindergarten, Malak saw Lisa (Kai's teacher) and took off running to her. "I go see Lisa" was all he could say. He really loves her and she is so sweet to him. I'm grateful that 2 of our kids have been taught by such a wonderful teacher so far. Now if I could just get Malak on a good nap schedule...he wants to wake up at 5:30 and is ready for his nap at 10:30 which doesn't give him any time to sleep before we have to go pick up Kai. I hope it all settles in soon.

After school on Tuesday I picked up Kai and took him to Olive Garden with Daddy. He's been bugging me ever since I went off of Gluten Free if I could PLEASE take him there to eat. I surprised him after school and he was so happy that he was eating at his favorite restaurant.

Raggedy Ann and Andy

Madelyn had the opportunity to participate in a summer camp that her voice coach hosted over the summer. It was a week long and they got to perform at the end of the week. She practiced every day for 2 hours and had to learn all her lines and all of the songs. She played the part of Kiersten and got to sing, "Never Never Land" from Peter Pan during the show. She did a great job and had lots of fun with her friends from the camp.
She also tried out for "Divas" which is a group of girls that Miss Lynda coaches and they perform all over town. They have to be at least 8 years old. She was the only girl her age at tryouts but she did really well. She's not quite ready for the group but she wants to work really hard this year so she can make it next year. We just signed her up for some dance classes which she is really excited about. She's taking hip hop first to see how she likes it and then we'll go from there. I think she will really love being able to dance and sing at the same time!! Every time I think about how much she's grown up, I get emotional..my baby is BIG!!
